OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is getting a taste of his own medicine - or maybe he just enjoys being the butt of the joke. With the release of the company's latest video generator Sora 2 this week, Altman's fans have rushed to churn out absurd clips that either outright mock him, or place him in a medley of bizarre scenarios that feel broadcasted from a different reality.

Then I saw Altman talk during my second and final year at Cambridge. That's when I realized there were maybe 10 years to get in on this whole AI startup thing, and I wanted to be on that wave. Music would be there for the next 50 years. Nearly every evening at Cambridge, I was at a talk or debate. They were one of my favourite things about student life there. When bubbles happen, smart people get overexcited about a kernel of truth. Are we in a phase where investors as a whole are overexcited about AI? My opinion is yes.

Altman called the current talent market the 'most intense talent market I have seen in my career,' emphasizing the fierce competition for AI professionals.

Elon Musk co-founded OpenAI in 2015 but left in 2018 to establish a competing firm, xAI, which sowed discord between him and OpenAI.

"My neighbors, my friends, my family, the people who are most deserving are going to be basically reverse Robin Hooded by these billionaires, and we can't be lining their pockets while we're cutting a trillion from Medicaid, SNAP, food assistance and other vital services," said Ashmu Murakami, Sunrise Movement.

"Independence Day is the perfect time to ask if you want independence from the two-party (some would say uniparty) system!" Musk wrote on X.
